Lundgren, Clyde William (13 SEP 1950 - 23 DEC 2017)

Clyde William Lundgren, 67, of Sheldon, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017 in Weston with his family by his side.

Clyde was born on Sept. 13, 1950 in Ladysmith. He was the oldest child of Carl William and Irma June (Adrian) Lundgren.

He almost graduated from Flambeau High School in 1969. He married Joanne R. Cicha on Aug. 25, 1973. They had two children, Joy Ann “Worm” in 1974 and Christopher William Ray “Bear” in 1977. In 1993 Clyde and Joanne divorced and found different paths to follow. Clyde married Debbie Taylor in 1996 and in 2006 they divorced and found life taking them in different directions.

Clyde started to deal with cattle at a young age with Richard Flifet and then began working at the Farmer’s Feedmill in Sheldon. Clyde then moved on to farming for several years in the Glen Flora and Sheldon area. He finally found a passion of working with the public and electricity. Stuart Welte became a mentor to Clyde as he began an apprenticeship learning electrical skills. He enjoyed learning again and received his GED. He then began his own business L & L Sales and Service, which provided electrical services to the community.

He also furthered his education by receiving certification for refrigeration through CVTC. This allowed him to provide more services and skills to the community. He also received his amateur radio license to operate an amateur radio and open lines of communication throughout the community. He then became known by a call sign to many as N9LHY. As life began to take him in different directions he found himself working at Menards and Grassland.

As health problems began to arise, he chose to work closer to home for the village of Sheldon. In his final years he found a new passion by providing transportation to the Amish community. This allowed him to travel and socialize. He enjoyed serving others and provided help when he was able to. He enjoyed a good conversation wherever that may be. He found auctions and collecting to be enjoyable as he was always looking for a good deal.

Clyde is survived by his children, Joy Jones (Al Timmers) of Hawkins and Christopher and Kendra (Skemp) Lundgren of Rice Lake; his siblings, Alice Winchel of Sheldon, Scott Lundgren of Sheldon, Rachel (Donn) Browne of Mapleton, Minn. and Bryce Lundgren of Concord, N.H. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Keith Jones of Hawkins, Nicole Jones of Kennan, Isaac Lundgren-Timmers of Hawkins and Richard and Christopher II Lundgren of Rice Lake.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Irma; his father, Carl; his step-mother, Evelyn Creighbaum (Lundgren) and his granddaughter, Natalii Jaine Jones.

A remembrance gathering was held on Saturday, Dec. 30 at the Sheldon Community Center.  A burial memorial will be held at a later date for the family.

Nash-Jackan Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
