St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Thorp, was the setting chosen by Miss Dawn Marie Kosakoski as she repeated wedding vows with Thomas Martin Hoffman on Saturday, October 31, 1970. The Reverend Francis Brockman officiated at the noon, double ring ceremony before an altar banked with pink and purple mums.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. John Kosakowski, Boyd, and Mr. and Mrs. Harley Hoffman, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was wearing a floor length, empire styled bridal gown of organza, fashioned with cavalier shaped sleeves and a mandarin neckline. Venice lace accented the A-line silhouette, highlighted by a sweeping chapel train. Her bouffant veil of sheer bridal illusion was attached to petals of pearls and she carried pink and purple tinted mums and carnations.

Matron of honor was her twin sister, Mrs. Joseph Thornton, and bridesmaids were Mrs. James Kosakoski, sister-in-law of the bride, Mrs. Ted Hoffman, sister-in-law of the groom, and Mrs. Les Mathison, a friend.

They wore royal purple A-line, floor length dresses of crepe, with white lace accenting the waistlines and necklines, with satin floor length bows attached to the back. Their headpieces were pillboxes accented by lace and securing their veils, and they carried cascade bouquets of pink and purple mums and carnations.

The groom’s twin brother, Ted Hoffman, was his best man, and groomsmen were Joseph Thornton, James Kosakoski, and Earl Mathison. Ushers were Daniel Eslinger and Roger Hoffman. Connie Hendrickson and Tom Dubiel were the soloists, and Roger Truckey the organist.

A reception was held at the Thorp Legion Hall with 250 guests in attendance, and a dance was held there in the evening. The hall was decorated with pink and purple streamers and wedding bells.

Following a week’s wedding trip to Louisville, Kentucky and Nashville, Tennessee, the couple is making their home at 2506 Corona St., Eau Claire.

The bride is a graduate of Cadott High School and the Eau Claire Vocational School, and is employed as a price clerk at the Eau Claire Book and Stationery Company. The groom was graduated from the Thorp High School, and is a sheet metal journeyman.
