Schultz, Diane Arlyle (Marriage – 31 August 1974)

Mr. and Mrs. Otis E. Kath, Rt. 1 Loyal, presented their daughter, Diane Arlyle Schultz, in marriage to Rickey Lee Harder Saturday evening, August 31, at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby. The groom is the son of Victor E. Harder, Rt. 1 Loyal, and the late Mrs. Valaria Harder.

The Rev. Steven Hasenstein, pastor of the Green Grove Lutheran Church, officiated at the 6 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a dinner in the church hall preceding a dance at the Unity Memorial Hall.

A cascade of red roses and white carnations with baby’s breath accented the satin and organdy gown chosen by the bride. Styled with a lace bodice, the gown was embellished with lace trim at the hemline, empire waistline, and cuffs of the organdy sleeves. Her petal-pearl headpiece held a three-tiered veil flowing into a lace and pearl-edged train.

Miss Peggy Teter, Minneapolis, Mn., was the maid-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Daniel Bravener, Greenwood, Mrs. Gary Kallberg, Owen, Mrs. Terry Harder, Colby, Miss Bonny Harder, Minneapolis, Mn., and Mrs. Robert Knecht, Abbotsford. Each wore a ruffle-neckline, empire-waist crepe gown of a different color, unified by an identical, sheer blue print overdress, and carried two long-stemmed carnations with baby’s breath tinted to match her dress. Wide-brimmed hats were trimmed with banding and streamers of the same blue sheer.

Flower girl Kelley Harder, Colby, niece of the groom appeared in a gown styled identically to the bride’s.

Todd Kath, Loyal, brother of the bride, served as ring bearer.

Acting as bestman was John Bloom, Loyal. Groomsmen included Dennis Wahlers, Madison, Gary Kallberg, Owen, Terry Harder, Colby, Kenneth Knecht, Marshfield, and Robert Knecht, Abbotsford. Ushers were Dennis Schultz, Dixon, Il., brother of the bride, and Robert Aitkins, Minneapolis, Mn., brother-in-law of the groom.

Mrs. Calvin Schulz was the organist. The Rev. Robin Fink sang “The Lord’s Prayer,” to his guitar self-accompaniment.

The new Mrs. Harder is a 1973 graduate of Loyal High School. Her husband attended Greenwood High School, and served for two and one-half years in the U. S. Army, one year of that time on active duty in Vietnam. He is employed by a Marshfield firm.

The newlyweds will live in Spencer upon their return from a wedding trip to Yellowstone National Park and to the Western States.
