Hryniewicki, Judy (29 AUG 1970)

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp was the setting as Miss Judy Hryniewicki, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hryniewicki, route 2, Chippewa Falls, exchanged wedding vows with Aaron Mattes on Saturday, August 29, 1970. The groom is the son of Mrs. Dorothy Mattes and the late Arthur Mattes of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). The double ring ceremony was performed by the Reverend R.W. Olson.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. For her wedding, the bride chose a floor length empire styled bridal gown of Peau de Soie in Candlelight featuring elbow length sleeves and a bateau neckline. Cathedral lace accented the A-line silhouette, highlighted by a sweeping chapel train. Her bouffant veil of bridal illusion was secured by a sheer petal headpiece trimmed with seed pearls. She carried a cascade of white gladiolas and mums.

Mrs. Myrna Meinholdt, Milwaukee, sister of the groom, served in the wedding party as matron of honor. Mrs. Ellen Wing of Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Sandra Meindel, and Mrs. Ginger Lokken, both of Eau Claire, were bridesmaids. They wore gowns of olive green, empire waistline, high neck, elbow length sleeves, and trimmed with Cathedral lace. Headpieces were clusters of sheer petals and velvet loops with harmonizing veils. Each carried cascades of fall colored mums.

Attendants of the groom were Lee Meinholdt of Milwaukee as best man; and Wally Hryniewicki of Chippewa Falls, Tom Hoffman of Thorp, and Roger Alger of Lublin as groomsmen. Donald Mattes of Thorp and Larry Kaszubowski of Stanley did ushering duties.

Mrs. William Boardman, Thorp, presided at the organ, and Barry Babbitt, Eau Claire, sang “Song of Ruth,” “The Lord’s Prayer” and “The Greatest of These is Love.”

The wedding day events included a reception, dinner, and dance, with music by the “Rebenzers Hotshots,” and all were held at the American Legion Hall in Thorp. Mrs. Irene Hallanger, Thorp, served as Hostess, and Mrs. Bea Jarocki, Stevens Point and Mrs. Mary Jo Buss, Chippewa Falls, cut and served the cake. Miss Debra Misfeldt, Chippewa Falls, was in charge of the guest book.

Mrs. Mattes graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School and the Accredited School of Cosmetology, Eau Claire. She has been working for My Fair Lady Beauty Salon, Eau Claire. Mr. Mattes is a graduate of Thorp High School and the University of Wisconsin, Superior, and will be attending the University of Illinois, Champaign, Illinois. After a wedding trip to Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Mattes will reside at 202 Wood St., Apt. 6, Urbana, Illinois.
