Lodahl, Patricia Joyce (6 JUN 1970)

Pink and white chrysanthemums were on the altar of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Stanley, for the marriage of Miss Patricia Joyce Lodahl and Roger Allen Mathison on Saturday, June 6, 1970. Pastor C. Peters performed the 1:30 double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Lodahl, Boyd, and Mr.a nd Mrs. Gerhard Mathison, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor length bridal gown of peau d' soie, fashioned with Elizabethan sleeves and a portrait neckline. Re-embroidered Alencon lace capped the sleeves and formed a front panel of the dome silhouette highlighted by a lace bordered chapel train. Her bouffant veil of sheer bridal illusion was secured to a profile of peau leaves accented with pearls.

Sandy Lodahl, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were: Carole Duss, sister of the bride, Loretta Lodahl, sister-in-law of the bride, Mary Beth Eslinger, friend of the bride, and Dolly Mathison, sister-n-law of the groom. They wore floor length empire styled dresses of aqua chiffon, styled with cavalier shaped sleeves and high mandarin necklines. White Venice lace accented the gowns, featuring soft gathers in the skirt. Harmonizing veils were secured to a forward cluster of petals.

Tina Lodahl, niece of the bride, was flower girl, and ring bearers was the bride's nephew, Doug Lodah.

Earl Mathison was his brother's best man, and groomsmen were: Wayne Duce, Bob Johnson, Leslie Mathison, and Gordon Lodahl. Ushers were Gary Simonson and Dennis Schneider.

Dane Lodahl and Diane Mathison served as acolytes. Host couple were: Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mathison and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Eslinger.

A reception for 500 guests was held at the Huron Town Hall, wich was decorated in pink, white, and aqua streamers.

The bride, a graduate of Stanley-Boyd High School, was a typist at Thorp Finance. The groom, also a graduate of Stanley-Boyd High School, is a salesman with American National Insurance, in Iowa. After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, they will make their home in Farley, Iowa.
