Schuette, Kathryn E. (31 DEC 1921 – 17 OCT 2017)

Kathryn E. Schuette was born December 31, 1921 to Henry & Bertha (Schroeder) Peterson in Curtiss (Clark Co.), Wisconsin. She attended the Curtiss Grade School and graduated from the Owen High School in May 1940. She also attended the Stevens Point College for one year and was then employed by the Studebaker Defense Plant in Chicago, IL until 1945 when the war ended.

On June 28, 1947, Kathryn and Orville Schuette were married in the St. Luke Lutheran Church in the town of Green Grove, WI. She lived in Rockford, IL where she did secretarial work at the Sewing Machine Company. She and Orville also lived in Milwaukee where their daughter, Jeanne was born. In 1951, they took over the Schuette family farm, where their son, James Michael was born in 1953. Later, because of health problems, they moved back to Curtiss. Kathryn worked as an aide at the Clark County Health Care Center for 16 years. Kathryn suffered the death of her son, James in 1986.

Kathryn was an organist for the St. Luke and St. Paul churches. Her interests were music, art, oil painting, bowling and being with her family.

Kathryn entered into rest on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at her home in Branson, Missouri at the age of 95.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Bertha Peterson; husband, Orville Schuette; son, James Michael Schuette; brothers, Armin, Franklin, Ramon, Orlyn and Lorrin Peterson; and her sister, Evelyn Novak.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Hedberg and husband Franklin of Branson; grandchildren, Jerrianne (Gary) Ovaska of Ironwood, MI, Jason (Sara) Skrzeczkoski of Spencer and Michael Schuette of Madison. Great grandchildren - Katie (Eric) Heiden and great-great grandsons Mason and Emmitt of Granton; grandsons, Sawyer Taylor of Pittsville and Adam Skrzeczkoski of Marshfield and granddaughter Amanda Skrzeczkoski of Spencer. Step-great grandchildren - Shawna (Zach) Young of Marshfield and sons Elliot and Beckham, Mikayla Ovaska of Marshfield and Gunnar Ovaska of Chicago, IL. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews, friends and church members.

Special mention of appreciation to Susan Hochreiter of State College, PA; Vera Strohkirch of Colby; Mr. & Mrs. Harlan Adams, Medford; Mr. & Mrs. Calvin Schulz of Marshfield; Jean Romang of Medford; Pastor Don Bruce and the Christ Lutheran Church Ladies Aid.

From Branson - Judy Gurney, Sharon Kirkland, Joyce Davis, Mr. & Mrs. Greg Hoffman, Pastor Ruby and Alfred Hopper along with the staff at Branson Compassus Hospice and the funeral homes.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. The Rev. Don Bruce will preside. A visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Saint Luke's Lutheran Cemetery in South Green Grove, Wisconsin under the direction of Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home, Abbotsford.
