Robeson, Jack Harlon (27 AUG 1940 - 16 SEP 2017)

Jack Harlon Robeson of Ontonagon, MI, born August 27, 1940 in Marietta, OK to the late Travis and Josie Mae Robeson, died September 16, 2017 at the age of 77.

Jack was raised by his mother and stepfather Claude Baker in Willows, CA. He joined the US Army in 1958. He worked at Copper Range Company White Pine Mine for many years before retiring and then working as a para-professional at the Ontonagon Area Schools. He also worked for Peninsula Title. Jack was a long-time member of the American Legion and the Federal Order of the Eagles.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, gardening and bingo. Most of all, Jack loved to spend time with his family and friends; he especially cherished his 8 grandchildren. Jack married his bride, Janet Broemer, in 1960. Their marriage was a true testament to what family and love should be and an inspiration to those who knew him.

He is survived by his beautiful wife of 57 years, Janet; his three sons, Bryan (Jane) of Marshfield, WI, Bruce (Sheri) of Lansing, MI and Brad of Houghton, MI; grandchildren, Jason, Andrew, Megan, Stephanie, Emma, Kyle, Katie and Cody; his siblings, Tom Baker of Brookins, OR and Donna (Darryl) Spooner of Willows, CA; brother and sister in-laws, Arlene (Don) Simula, Doris Craw and Raymond (Cathy) Broemer, and many nieces and nephews. Also, dear to his heart was his dog Roxey, his little sweetie pie.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother, stepfather, sister Joy and brother Roger.

A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Thursday, September 21st, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Cane’s Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Hogard. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 12:00-1:00 PM.
