Bleecker, Mary Virginia (1 March 1937 – 13 September 2017)

Mary V. Bleecker, 80, of Neillsville, WI, died on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI.


Mary Virginia Edwards was born on March 1, 1937 in Madison, WI the daughter of Otto Glen and Virginia Sarah (Greene) Edwards. Her family moved to Fort Atkinson where she received her education and then to McHenry, IL where they owned a restaurant. She met Bill Bleecker and they were married and moved to Whitewater, WI where she worked for Jones’s Dairy Farm and Meats for many years. Mary and Bill moved to Neillsville, WI and bought the Moonlight Inn which they owned for several years. When they sold the Moonlight, they moved to the country and Mary worked at Hoppa’s bar. Bill and Mary divorced and Mary moved back to Whitewater where she worked as a cook for UW Whitewater. After she retired she moved back to Neillsville. Mary loved to cook, play cards, visiting with friend and family and enjoyed a good beer.


She is survived by her children; Billy (Leanne) Bleecker of Red Granite, WI, Teresa (Todd) Brandt of Antigo, WI and Tim Bleecker of Neillsville, WI, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, a brother James (Mary Evelyn) Edwards of TX and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gerald, a grandson, and sisters; Betty Olson and Pat Messier.


A Memorial Service will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm, Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Neillsville American Legion Post #73.
