Lashly, Cindy Sue (Marriage – 3 August 1974)

Gowned in white brocade and organza, Cindy Sue Lashly carried a bouqu7et of purple and white roses as she exchanged marriage vows with Carl Gehrt Saturday, August 3, at the Loyal United Methodist Church before the Rev. Gene Carlson. The couple greeted guests alter at a reception in the church parlors.

The bride presented in marriage by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Nichols. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Gehrt, Rt.2 Loyal, are the groom’s parents.

Bridal attendants were Cheryl Delo as maid of honor, and Candy Sloth, Mary Furman, and Lily Fetting as bridesmaids. Roses in matching colors complimented their checked gingham gowns in shades of green, pink, yellow, and blue, respectively.

Mike Sheets served as best man, and Arlyn Luchterhand, Dick Schecklman, and Glen Hardrath, as groomsmen. John Edwards and Randy Furman acted as ushers.

Robbie Nichols completed the wedding party.

Music at the ceremony included the selections “The Lord’s Prayer,” “We’ve Only Just Begun” and “O Promise Me.”

The bride was honored at a prenuptial kitchen shower given by Janette Gehrt, and Lorraine Luchterhand, and at a personal shower given by Candy Sloth.

The new Mrs. Gehrt is a student at Loyal High School, from which her husband graduated in 1973. He is employed by a milk products cooperative in Greenwood. The couple will live at Mapleway Terrace, Loyal.
