Rapp, Florence M. (16 APR 1928 – 9 JUL 2017)

Florence M. Rapp, a long-time resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the Chippewa Manor.

Florence was born in Chicago, IL on April 16, 1928, to Paul and Mary (Galarowicz) Janik. She married Edward R. Rapp on July 26, 1947, and they lived in the Chicago area until 1985 when they moved to Thorp. WI.

Florence was a wonderful seamstress, loved to sew and bake for friends and family, and was an active member of the PCCW at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Thorp.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Edward Rapp; grandsons, Matthew and George Rapp; and great- grandson, Jacob Rapp. She is survived by a sister, Pauline Stevens of Manhattan, IL; and a brother. Dr. Thomas (Shari) Janik of Park Ridge, IL; sons: Michael R. Rapp of Palos Park, IL, George (Terry) Rapp of Waupaca, WI; and daughter Mary (Craig) Morello of Stanley, WI. She is further survived by grandchildren; Michael J. Rapp, Melissa (John) Kud, Stacey (Robert) Stewart, Kiel (Jessica) Morello, Colette (Nels) Wirtala, Christa (Ramon) Contreras, and Eric Morello and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Foundation of Suicide Prevention.

Visitation will take place at Thorp Funeral Home, 110 W. School Street, Thorp, WI, on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 109 N. Church St., Thorp, WI one hour prior to a noon Celebration Mass. A luncheon will be served at the church immediately following Mass.

Florence will be buried next to her husband at Holy Sepulchre in Worth, IL.
