Smith, June M. (12 JUN 1935 – 29 JUN 2017)

June Maxine Smith, 82, of Stanley, WI, finished her course and received her reward on Thursday, June 29,
2017, at home with her family by her side.

June was born on June 12, 1935, in Stanley, to Gilbert and Signa (Reppe) Brown. She married Richard Smith on October 16, 1951, at Pleasant Valley Church in Stanley. Together, they raised nine children.

June was devoted to her husband and family. She was an excellent wife and mother working very diligently to raise her children right. She loved holidays, when the family would gather at her home for food and conversation. "Grandma June" doted on her grandchildren, never forgetting their birthdays. She was quick with a hug, and mentioned how much she loved them often. June was a talented musician and taught piano lessons for many years. She was active in music and children's ministry at church throughout her life. Reading, baking, and needlework were among her rom\ hobbies, gingerbread cookies was one of her specialties.

Most of all, June was passionate about serving the Lord. She spent hours in prayer, "just me and Jesus." She loved reading her Bible and helping others who were struggling with the cares of this life. June was a member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church in Thorp. Her faith m God was unshakable and her
love for Him was unwavering.

June was loved by her family and we will miss her dearly; our only consolation is that she is now with Jesus for eternity.

June is survived by three sons: Paul (Mayda) Smith, and Jay (Terri) Smith of Stanley, and Peter (Carol) Smith of Eau Claire; five daughters: Pamela Hall of Chippewa Falls, Jill (Les) Cormany of Stanley, Joyce (Alan) Millen of Fall Creek, Evelyn (Scott) Flaminio of Iron Mountain, Mich., and Erin (Jeremy) Foxwell of Eau Claire; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren (and counting); many nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, June Shilts of Stanley; and "a brother-in-law, James Smith of Stanley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Richard; her in-laws, Ervin and Maxine Smith; her sister Margaret "Dolly" Lewallen; and her son, Joey.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2017, at Abundant Life Pentecostal Church in Thorp with Rev. John Sindler officiating. Interment was at Oakland Cemetery in Stanley. Friends were able to call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday at Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley, and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church in Thorp.
