Sternitzky, Beth Jeanette (26 September 1919 – 9 June 2017)

Beth Jeanette (Marty) Sternitzky, 97, of Cherokee Village, AR, departed to be with Christ Friday, June 9, 2017, at Eaglecrest Nursing Home.

Beth was born Sept. 26, 1919 (a notch baby) in Neillsville to Casper and Emma Marty. She was one of eight children. She married Walter Sternitzky Oct. 15, 1941, in Neillsville. There were blessed with two children – Nancy (Sternitzky) Galloway of Cherokee Village, AR, and Larry (Karen) Sternitzky of Fall Creek. Walter and Beth loved and worked on a dairy farm until 1970, when they moved to Apache Junction, AZ, for Walter’s health. Beth worked as an operatory scrub and instrument technician at a local hospital. She and Walter also worked at a friend’s bakery, doing what she loved.

Beth entered the Arizona State Fair each year with over 100 baked items, receiving mostly first-place ribbons. She entered the Crisco pie contest in Arizona, winning first place two years running. She and Walter went to the National Contest, winning runner-up, receiving a special rosette and many gifts.

Beth and Walter traveled to many states, visiting their children, family and friends. They also flew to England with Larry and Karen in 1968, where Nancy and Glen were stationed in the Air Force. They visited France, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland where Beth’s father was born.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents, beloved Walter, brothers Walter, Fritz and Bill, sister Esther and her son-in-law, Glen Galloway.

Survivors include daughter Nancy, son Larry (Karen) Sternitzky; granddaughter Wendy (Ted) Kohlmann, sons Adam and Aron; grandson Joel (Bethany Sternitzky and children Kailee, Jayce, and Crystian, and Ellabell. She loved all her family. Also, brothers, Jesse (Cathy) and Bob (Marilyn); and sister, Helen Schoen of Neillsville.

Her family sends their deepest appreciation to the staff of Eaglecrest Nursing Home. They took such good and loving care of her.

A donation will be given to a choice charity at a later date.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village, AR, under the direction of Wortham Funeral home & Cremation in Highland, AR. A luncheon will follow the service.
