Prusa, Lavonne Dorothy (19 April 1932 – 4 January 2017)

Lavonne D. Prusa, 84, of Black River Falls, formerly of Hatfield, died Jan. 4, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 19, 1932, in Sparta, the daughter of George and Ella (Overhagen) Meissner. She married Ed Prusa in 1992 in Black River Falls.

Lavonne was a past member of the Jackson County Homemakers association. She was an active auxiliary member of American Legion Post #200 Black River Falls. Lavonne was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends over the years. Lavonne entered state and local contests for her extraordinary talents of beautiful arts and craft heirlooms, winning many first-place blue ribbons. Lavonne was also passionate about gardening and had beautiful displays of flowers.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Cathy Klawien, mother Ella Overhagen and sister Betty Rapp.

She is survived by her children Steven Limberg of Constantia, NY; Robert (Laurie) Limberg of Green Bay; David Limberg of Chesapeake, VA; Jim (Alina) Limberg of Merrillan; Chris (Jim) Olson of San Tan Valley, AZ; Carie (Bill) Kane, Mt. Juliet, TN; brother Dennis (Kathy) Meissner, White house, TN; 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Lavonne were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Buswell Funeral Home 106 S. Second Street, Black river Falls, WI. Burial followed in Hatfield Cemetery. Friends called from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials be made in her name to Black River Memorial Hospice.

Buswell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
