Beyreis, Mr./Mrs. Ernest (Gold – 18 JUN 1972)

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Beyreis were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary at a buffet dinner and reception hosted by their children. The event was held at the Village Hall in Spencer on Sunday, June 18, 1972.

Present were 120 guests from Green Bay, Madison, Ashland, and the Spencer area. A special guest at the reception was Mrs. Beyreis' mother, Mrs. Ada Kayhart, 92, of Green Bay.

The couple was presented with a yellow rose corsage and boutonniere. The decorated cake was made by their daughter, Shirley Nevala.

Ernest Beyreis and the former Blanche Kayhart were married by Rev. E.W. Marks at the Methodist Parsonage in Dorchester (Clark Co.), Wisconsin.

The farmed for 46 years in the area before moving to the Village of Spencer.

Mr. Beyreis is in excellent health, and spends his time at hobbies of hunting, fishing and gardening.

Mrs. Beyreis enjoys traveling, sewing and embroidery.

Original attendants who were able to attend the golden event were Mrs. Katherine Johnson, Ashland and Mr. Fred Buchholz, Neillsville.

The couple's five children are Mrs. Phyllis Loos, Marshfield; Mrs. Ray (Shirley) Nevala, Withee; Mrs. Elmer (Joyce) Bombach, Willard; Verlyn Beyreis, Spencer, and Mrs. Albert (Gale) Zorman. They also have 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
