Rakovec, Joan Irene (22 APR 1972)

Joan Irene Rakovec, Marshfield, was united in marriage with Kenneth L. Severson, route 2, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), on April 22, 1972, at a 1:00 p.m. ceremony held at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Father Michael Mertens, pastor, officiated, with Ann Lamovec at the organ and Helen Horn as soloist.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Rakovec, route 2, Greenwood, was given in marriage by her father to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Severson of route 3, Greenwood.

The bride wore a white floor length empire styled bridal gown of organza fashioned with bishop sleeves and a high neckline. Lace accented the "A" line silhouette and bordered the "Madonna" mantilla of sheer bridal illusion, forming the train of the grown, and sweeping to chapel length. A spring bouquet of stephanotis, carnations, daisies, roses and baby's breath was carried by the bride.

Miss Pat Rakovec, Greenwood, was maid of honor, with Mrs. Mary Volovsek, Willard, and Miss Linda Thomas, Eau Claire, as bridesmaids.

They wore empire floor length dresses of white and blue lace over blue taffeta, accented with a blue ribbon at the waistline. They carried bouquets of carnations, daisies, roses and baby's breath.

Don Westad, Alexandria, Minn., was the best man, with Dale Severson, Greenwood, and Mike Rakovec, Greenwood, as the groomsmen.

Bob Severson, Rick Severson, Gene Rakovec, and Jerry Rakovec were the ushers.

After the wedding dinner, a reception and a dance were held.

Mrs. Severson is a 1969 graduate of Greenwood High School and has been employed in the record room at the Marshfield Clinic. Her husband is a 1968 graduate of Loyal High School and is a welder for Schuld Manufacturing in Mosinee.

After a trip to western states, the couple will reside in Stratford.
