Mrs. Bert (Frances) Brown, 83, Colby, formerly of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 4:00 a.m. January 17, 1972 at the Colonial House of Colby.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., January 21, 1972, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with burial in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, with the Rev. Norbert E. King officiating.
Frances Hegy was born August 17, 1888 at Hartford, Wisconsin, and received her education at Hartford and Spencerian Business College, Milwaukee. Shew as married on April 11, 1917 at Milwaukee to Bert Brown, who survives her.
Before her marriage, Frances worked as a stenographer in Hartford, and after her marriage, the couple lived at Wausau for one year. In 1918 they moved to a farm in the Town of Loyal. They retired in 1948 and moved to Loyal. In 1969 they moved to Colby. She lived at the Colonial Nursing Home for seven months.
The deceased was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Ruth) Rufener, Madras, Oregon; two sons, Edward of Colby and Robert of Newton, Mass.; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Edward Hegy, Portland, Oregon, and Alphonse Hegy, Calgary, Canada.
She was preceded in death by six sisters and five brothers.
