Cattanach, John N. (6 MAR 1928 – 21 NOV 1969)

Funeral services were held a week ago Monday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Katherine's Episcopal Church for John N. Cattanach, 41, of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), who died Friday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Masonic services were held Sunday evening at the Hoeper-Kraut Funeral parlors, with Louis Burhop in charge. Pallbearers were Toby Heikkinen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Eldon Catura of Marshfield; Henry Mauel Jr., Lynn Phillips, Peter McMillan and William (?0 OF Owen. Russell Phillips acted as usher.

John was born in Owen March 6, 1928. He graduated from Owen High School, served in the United States Army two years, after which he attended college at Stevens Point, graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree, University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he earned his Bachelor of Law in 1957.

He was a member of St. Katherine's Episcopal Church, American Legion Post, and Masonic Lodge, and while at Madison served as treasurer of the Young Republicans for two years. After graduation he worked for General Casualty Insurance Company, and was associated with Clarence and Everett Gorsegner, Attorneys in Loyal, and with Richard Gaffney, attorney in Owen. He opened his own law office in Owen in 1962.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. L.W. Cattanach; four brothers, Bert of Owen, Lewis of Boscobel, Wis., James of Marshfield, and Robert of Eau Claire, and one sister, Mrs. Huber Glenzer Jr., of the Island of Adak in Alaska, the Aleutian Islands.
