Magsam, Gerald J. (19 NOV 1936 - 26 FEB 2017)

Gerald J. Magsam, 80, of Medford, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017 at Aspirus Care and Rehab Center in Medford.

Gerald was born on Nov. 19, 1936 in Euclid, MN to Ray and Edna Magsam. He attended elementary school at District 293 in Euclid and was a 1954 graduate of the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, Minn. In 1955 Gerald married Bonita Bratten.

After his education, Gerald was a grain farmer in Euclid, Minn., and then went on to dairy farm in Birnamwood, Marion, and Pulaski areas until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. In 1946 Gerald heard the Gospel of Christ, and followed it throughout the rest of his life.

He is survived by his children, Gary (Debbie) Magsam of Wisconsin Rapids, Gene (Linda) Magsam of VanCovver, Wash., Gwen (Jim Willkomm) Rabe-Dombowsky of Medford, Greg Magsam of Shawano and Gerry Magsam of Cecil; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Gerald is further survived by his siblings, Bertha Magsam of Arkansas, Elmer (Marilyn) Magsam of Baldwin, Marlys (Bill) Martin of Oklahoma City, Okla., Larry (Carol) Magsam of Emporia, Kan., Dean (Kathy) Magsam of Sulphur, Okla., Sylvia (Bill) Nueske of Wittenberg, Rodney (Donna) Magsam of Northfield, Minn., Mark (Pam) Magsam of Palm Desert, Calif. and William Magsam of Phoenix, Ariz.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gilbert, Danny and Marvin Magsam.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 3 at the Stetsonville Centennial Center, 412 E. Centennial Avenue, Stetsonville, WI, 54480. Perry Pearson and Robert Eberhart will officiate.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday morning at the Stetsonville Centennial Center from 10 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Burial will follow in the Baldwin Cemetery in Baldwin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Gerald can be given to his family, for designation at later date.
