Hanson, David Morris (12 July 1946 – 28 January 2017)

David Morris Hanson, 70, of Independence (formerly of Neillsville) died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at his home. David was born July 12, 1946, in La Crosse to Raymond and Edna (Olson) Hanson. David married Eileen Loging Sept. 25, 1971, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Onalaska.

David worked at Sparta Manufacturing, framed for many years, and worked at Ashley Furniture. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Arcadia. In retirement, he enjoyed watching TV, drawing, and playing with his grandchildren.

David is survived by his wife Eileen Hanson of Independence, children: William “Bill” (Amy) Hanson of Marshfield, Timothy “Tim” (Rita) Hanson of Neillsville, and Elizabeth “Liz” (Jeremy) O’Brien Black River Falls; brothers, Ray (Margie) Hanson, Jr., of Sparta, Reynold (Lynette) Hanson of Tomahawk, and Norman Hanson of Minneapolis; sisters, Bonnie (Don) Baldwin of Tomah, and Marion (significant other, Roy) Schindler of Nevada; 14 grandchildren: Joe (Samantha) Northup, Jalen, Kade, Owen, Topanga, Zander, Sullivin, Hudson, Rory, and Flynn Hanson, and Patrick, Noah, Conner, and Brianna O’Brien; one great-great-granddaughter, Starlynn Northup; and one uncle, Richard “Dick” (Donna) Hanson of Sparta.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janet Hanson, brother-in-law Loren Schlindler, and nephew Scott Brohmer.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Arcadia, with Rev. Jon Cox officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
