Wallin, David A. (6 OCT 1950 – 12 JAN 2017)

David A. Wallin, 60, Greenwood, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, with his family by his side. A celebration of life will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Parkway Pines Supper Club in Greenwood, with Rev. Brian Campbell officiating. There will be a visitation held from 11 a.m. until the service.

David Allen Wallin was born on Oct. 6, 1956, in Rockford, Ill., to Wayne and Jacqueline (nee Snyder) Wallin. He graduated from Rolling Meadows High School in Rolling Meadows, Ill., and then went on to the University of Akron, in Akron, Ohio, where he graduated with a degree in marketing. Following graduation, he worked for Eaton Corporation as a salesman for 19 years. Afterward, he worked for Hedtke Inc., and later was self-employed. David married Patricia J. Walsh on June 12, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Inver Grove Heights, Minn. He retired in 2014. He had many interests, but especially enjoyed fishing, blues music, traveling to Florida, and spending time at his cabin located on Mead Lake near Greenwood.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Patty, of Greenwood; his children: Jenna (Seth Detjens) Wallin of St. Paul, Minn., and Nick (Marnie Plunkett) Wallin of St. Paul, Minn.; his mother: Jacqueline Wallin of Jackson, Tenn.; his step-children: Phil (Erin) Ellsworth of Oak Creek, and Jon (Shelly Annett) Ellsworth of Mankato, Minn.; two brothers: Robert (Nancy) Wallin of Nekoosa, and Bruce (Liz) Wallin of Rockford, Ill.; one sister: Deb (Dedra Stewart) Wallin of Houston, Texas; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.
