Ebert, Nila J. (Willman) Everson (12 MAR 1930 - 1 JAN 2017)

Nila J. Ebert, age 86, died Sunday, January 1 at the residence of her daughter in the Town of Holway under the loving care of her family and Hope Hospice. Per her request, there will be no services.

Nila was born March 12, 1930 in Altoona, WI. She was the daughter of Walter Willman and Olive Mae (Stillman). Her maternal grandfather was one of the first game wardens in Wisconsin.
Nila was a sister to brothers - Albert, Delos, John & Thomas. She had 2 sisters – Eileen & Geraldine.

She was married to Joseph Dwight Everson in 1950 in the State of Oregon. Nila & Joseph had an interesting and adventurous life during her first years of marriage. She worked as a fire lookout with her husband in the Grande Tetons at Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The only access to the fire towers was by horseback. All supplies had to be packed in on horseback as well. Many of their meals were trout, caught in a nearby stream. She often spoke of this incredible time in her life!

They started a family in 1954 and had 7 children – Nila Jo, Mark Anthony (Sally), Daniel Lynn (Karen), Julie Marie, Juanita Mary (Kevin), Kathleen Ann, and Nathan Thomas (Tina).

In 1967 Nila was married to Carl Ebert and moved to Mosinee, WI. They lived in the country where they grew wonderful vegetable gardens and canned all their food, along with raising all their meat.

Through the years, Nila continued to travel out west with her children, camping and enjoying all the beautiful places along the way. She passed her love of travel to all her children. Her beloved chihuahua, Jasper was always by her side.

Nila loved and treasured her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. She will always be loved and cherished.
