Rev. Gordon K. Peterson performed the double ring ceremony.

Preceding the ceremony, candles were lit by the ushers. Thomas Hardwick, organist, accompanied John Gerber who sang "Whither Thou Goest," before the bride entered, and "The Lord's Prayer," while the couple knelt at the altar,

Palms, ferns and bouquets of blue mums and white gladioli adorned the altar.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore the traditional full princes style gown of silk organza and Chantilly lace, with a scalloped neckline and long pointed sleeves. She carried a bouquet of white and blue pompons. Her jewelry was a cultured pearl pendant, a gift from the groom. Mrs. Sherwood Heggen was the bride's personal attendant.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Janet Paetznick. Mildred Paetznick and Clarice Jewell were bridesmaid. They wore light blue floor length gowns, which were sleeveless and had high necklines. They wore long white gloves, gifts of the bride, and carried bouquets similar to the bride's.

Neal Schmidt attended his brother as best man. Kenneth Heiman and Ed Paetznick served as groomsmen. Ushers were Gordon Schmidt and Sherwood Heggen. The men in the wedding party wore strollers with white carnation boutonnieres. Their ties, tie tacks and cuff links were gifts of the groom. The groom wore a sterling tie tack and cuff links, a gift from the bride.

A reception was held after the ceremony in Fellowship Hall. Lucille Rust registered the guests. Punch was served by Karlyn Paetznick and Mrs. John Gerber. Carrying the gifts were Marilyn, Ella and Karlyn Paetznick. Opening and displaying the gifts were Sue Peterson, Shirley Haug and Marlene Lindo. Pouring honors went to Lee Frederick and Vivian Thompson. The wedding cake was cut and served by Pearl Heitke. Waitresses were Diana Fern and Mrs. Harold Budah.
