Sackman, Delores B. (Kestler) (7 NOV 1932 - 11 AUG 2012)

Delores B. Sackman, age 79 of W4620 County Road D, Westboro, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been a patient for the past week in a half.

The funeral mass will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 16 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Whittlesey, with Father Gerard Willger officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Westboro. Pallbearers are Seth Simek; Aaron Thums; Jesse, Jay and Clint Sackman; and Tom Mayer.

Visitation will be at 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Whittlesey.

Delores was born on November 7, 1932, at Chelsea, to John S. and Catherine T. (Kestler)
Mayer.

She attended elementary school in Chelsea and was a graduate of Westboro High School.

On November 11, 1949, in Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary, Chelsea, Delores married Edward E. Sackman. He survives.

They farmed in the town of Westboro and she also worked at the canning factory in Medford starting in 1950. Delores also did catering for weddings and banquets. She was also a cook at Florena’s, Lamplighter, Phil and Eleanor’s and the Chapperal. Delores then worked as the production manager and Tombstone Pizza for 10 years then retired back to farming. They also fostered 5 children. She enjoyed family life. Delores enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards and visiting with friends and family. She is a past member of St. Theresa Church, Westboro.

Delores is survived by her husband, Edward E. Sackmann of Westboro; children Dawn (Theodore) Thums of Westboro; Mary (Ron Zingale) Simek of Bonita Springs, Florida; Edward (Dawn) Jr. Sackman of Menomonee; Rodney (Sandy Niggeman) Sackman of Wausau; Brad (Suzie) Sackman of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota; Tracy (Rhonda) Sackman of Westboro;
5 Foster Children: Betty, Stella, Sandy, John and Allan; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn Niggeman of Milwaukee.

She is predeceased by her parents, John S. and Catherine T. (Kestler) Mayer; a daughter, Susan Blennert; and an infant grandson; siblings, Marion Niggeman; Lorraine Nelson; John F. and Ervin Mayer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Delores’s family to be designated at a later date.
