He was born July 15, 1932 to the late Otto and Hattie Untiedt. On September 25, 1965 he married Marlene “Molly” Teske at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. She survives.

For many years, Ditto drove semi for ROW Window in Merrill. He also helped in the construction of the Mackinac Bridge and the Glen Canyon Dam in Utah. Ditto and his brother, Norb, were co-owners of O & H Feed and Food, Edgar, where he was a truck driver and skilled mechanic.

Ditto was a member of the St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church in Edgar and served on the church council. He served as president of the Edgar Lions Club, Commander of the Edgar American Legion and president of the Bear Track Inn. He was a member of Whitetails Unlimited, Wisconsin Whitetails, Pheasants Forever, Marathon Trap Club and a Golden Eagle life member of the National Rifle Association.

Ditto served on the Edgar Village Board and the Edgar Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid hunter, including pheasant hunting in the Dakotas and elk hunting in Wyoming. He especially enjoyed spending time “at the river” planting wildlife food plots on his game farm.

Ditto and Molly enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time at their cottage on Crescent Lake in Rhinelander. His latest hobby was clock repair and collecting.

Survivors include, his wife Marlene “Molly” Untiedt, Edgar; four daughters, Colleen (Dan) Dvorak, Linda (Brian) Gottshalk, Penny (Jim) Fons and Patty (Ben) Kohel; ten grandchildren, Mollie Jo, Mitchell, Lindsey, Shannon, Morgan, Madison, Simon, Jace, Wade and Reid; one great granddaughter, Ava; one brother, Norbert (Audrey) Untiedt and their children, Courtney, Cheryl, Cindy and Connie; and his very special companion, his dog “Sparky.”

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jean Ann.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Ronald Miles, Dr. Gregory Wcisel and the nursing staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for the excellent and personal care given to Ditto. We are eternally grateful to Dr. Tom Stoffel, a loving friend of the entire family.

Memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of Marathon County, the Edgar Volunteer Fire Department or St. Stephen Project Fund.
