Riplinger, Bertha (24 OCT 1880 – 12 MAY 1969)

Bertha Riplinger, 88, formerly of Colby, died Monday, May 12, 1969 at the Marshfield Convalescent Home.

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, May 15, at 2 p.m. at Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, and burial will be made in Colby Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. R. James Hagen will officiate.

Bertha Mihlke was born in the town of Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.) October 24, 1880. She married Fred Riplinger February 28, 1903 in Colby. They were married by Justice of the Peace, Frank Firnstahl. Her parents had originally moved to Colby when she was a small child. They operated the Hotel for a few years. After their marriage, the couple spent several years in Colby, where she nad her husband were in business.

In 1912 they became associated with the General Store in Riplinger. She lived in Riplinger since that time. Her husband preceded her in death on July 2, 1955.

Survivors include four children, Ellis of Bloomfield, N.J., Hazel of Riplinger, Frank of Minneapolis, Minn., and Helen (Mrs. Peter Strom) of Bremerton, Washington; four grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence of Coer D'Alene, Idaho, and Fred of Spokane, Washington; and one sister, Nettie (Mrs. L. W. Johnson) of Farmington, Washington.
