Heiser, Alice M. (Gauthier) (18 FEB 1917 - 3 AUG 2012)

Alice M. Heiser, age 95, of Golden Living Center, Rib Lake, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Memorial Nursing & Rehab Center, Medford where she had resided for 1 day under the care of Hope Hospice.

The funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM Monday, August 6 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rib Lake, with Rev. James Heffner officiating. Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Nicole Erdman, Nate Ball, Cathy Scheithauer, Gina Heiser, Tori Fugate, Chelsea Kay Vi Weinke. Active pallbearers will be Crystal Marshall, David Tackett, Paul Quednow, Jeffrey Heiser, Nancy Duerr, Robert Tasch, Brandon Normand, Heather Norton.

Visitation will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rib Lake from 9 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, August 6.

Alice was born on February 18, 1917 at Pelican Lake, WI, to Eugene Henry and Helen (Timmers) Gauthier.

She attended Pelican Lake, Crandon & Rhinelander area elementary schools.

On April 23, 1938, at Rhinelander, Alice married Louis Gustav Heiser. He preceded her in death March 29, 2004.

After their marriage, they farmed in the Town of Rib Lake for many years. While farming she also worked for periods of time at Gem Products, Magnuson’s Mink Ranch and Andreae’s Mink Ranch all in the Rib Lake area. She enjoyed canning, quilting, all types of gardening, berry picking, cooking, baking, bowling and spending time with family.

Alice was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rib Lake; American Legion Auxiliary, Rib Lake; Past member of Little Bohemia bowling leagues.

She is survived by her children, Eugene (Florence) Cedzo of Medford; Louis (Delores) Heiser, Jr. of Merrill; John (Pat) Heiser of Rib Lake; Betty (Frank) Quednow of Rib Lake; Shirley (Art) Andreae of Ogema; Pearl (Oscar “Sam”) Tackett of Van Dyne, WI; Edie (Bill) Sunderlin of North Fond Du Lac, WI; son-in-law, Jim Tasch of Fond Du Lac, WI; 21 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; 11 great great great grandchildren; 3 step great great great grandchildren.

Alice is predeceased by her parents, Eugene Henry and Helen (Timmers) Gauthier; children Robert Heiser in 1967; Catherine Tasch in 2000; great granddaughter April Peterson in 2000; 16 brothers and sisters.
