Pawlicki, Sophie Mary (13 July 1921 – 7 November 2016)

Sophie M. Pawlicki, age 95, of Thorp, WI, passed away at Oakbrook Health & Rehab, in Thorp, on Monday, November 7, 2016. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin, Wi. Rev. Madanu Lourdu Raju officiated and burial followed in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Dan Boie, Mike Boie, Dave Kroeplin, James Bielecki, Jason Bielecki, Ryan Pawlicki and Jeff Pawlicki. Visitation was held at the church, on Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Sophie Mary Siudak was born on July 13, 1921, in Lublin, Wi, to Anton and Mary (Kusmider) Siudak. She was raised on the family farm and received her education. Sophie moved to Chicago, where she worked for a few years as a maid, before returning to Lublin. She was united in marriage to Joseph A. Pawlicki on April 8, 1942, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. They farmed in the Town of Taft and later in the Town of Roosevelt until retiring in 1983. Sophie continued to live on the farm until October 2013, when she entered Oakbrook Health & Rehab.

She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and its PCCW.

Sophie is survived by her daughter Marcie (Dale) Boie of Thorp; one daughter-in-law, Carol Pawlicki of Thorp; one son-in-law, Joseph Bielecki of Thorp; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Jane Gajda of Lublin; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph, on January 29, 2014; her son, Raymond, on February 21, 2008; her daughter, Theresa Bielecki on April 9, 2013; her grandson, Douglas Pawlicki on January 7, 1990; three brothers: Frank, Edward, and Joseph Siudak; and one sister, Stella Swanek.
