Biddle, Julia (4 March 1919 – 24 October 2016)

Julia Biddle, age 97, of Thorp, WI, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016, at Oakbrook Health & Rehab in Thorp. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday October 28, 2016, at Thorp Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff Smith will officiate and burial will follow in Sylvan Cemetery Rural Thorp. Pallbearers will be Dennis Moskiewicz, Trent Moskiewicz, Dion Moskiewicz, Mark Biddle, Larry Biddle and Jacob Moskiewicz. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, on Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Julia Fillo was born on March 4, 1919, in Clinton, IN, to John and Elizabeth (Fron) Fillo. When she was one year old, her family moved to Thorp and purchased the Fillo family farm, where she was raised and received her education. Julia was married to Frank H. Biddle on December 31, 1934, in Boyd, WI. Together, they farmed until Frank’s retirement in the mid-1970s, at which time, she went to work at Oakbrook Health & Rehab, in Thorp, for 10 years until retiring. She resided on the family farm until entering Morgan Plaza, in Thorp, in 2012.

She had many interests, but especially enjoyed gardening and taking care of her animals.

Julia is survived by two children: Clarence “Jim” (Shirley) Biddle of Thorp, Betty (Dennis) Moskiewicz of Rockport, TX; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank on June 12, 2012; three sisters: Lizzie Kingery, Mary Fillo and Wilma Fillo; and five brothers: Frank, Rudy, Willie, John and William Fillo.
