Junior Kiwanian Morgan Hauge (October - 2016)

October Junior Kiwanian

Morgan Hauge

In its 50-plus years of existence as a regular feature of the Neillsville Kiwanis Club, the Junior Kiwanian program has always focused on the achievements of stand-out senior students as they prepare to transition into the next stage of their lives. Supporting youth and helping to ensure that they have the resources to succeed is a primary mission of Kiwanis.

With the start of the 2016-2017 school year, the club is pleased to welcome Morgan Hauge as its Junior Kiwanian for October. She is the daugher of Eric and JoAnn Huge, and will be participating in the Monday meetings during the month. Club member Herman Seebandt made the introduction at the Oct. 3 meeting.

Strong academics and a broad range of participation in numbero0us activities characterize this student. Hauge is a three-year National Honor Society member, has served four years on student council, is vice president of Spanish Club, and a member of Spanish Honor Society. She has been in High Potential throughout high school, and is involved in Building a Leader and Standing Tall (BLAST) and 4-H. Additionally, Hauge is a three-sport athlete, competing four years in volleyball, basketball and track and field, and serving as team captain in each sport. Volunteer activities have included blood drives, Feed My Starving Children, Adopt-a-House, Walk of Hope, Child Development Fair and Scholastic Book Fair.

Hauge is making plans for the next step in her academic life and intends to further her education at UW-La Crosse with a career goal of physician’s assistant.

The Junior Kiwanian program gives recognition to outstanding students like Morgan Huge, who have demonstrated strong academic achievement, shown good leadership qualities, and strive to make use of their talents. Through their participation in the Junior Kiwanian program, students are provided an introduction to the concept of a service organization such as Kiwanis, which encourages active participation in the community throughout the lifespan.

The Neillsville club wishes her continuing success in her future endeavors.
