Schier, Margot (21 JUL 1929 – 21 SEP 2016)

Margot Schier, age 87, of Marshfield, passed away Sept. 21, 2016 at Atrium Post-Acute Care in Marshfield. A Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 at Hansen Schilling Funeral Home (1010 East Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home from 9:30 AM until time of service on Monday. Burial will take place at Lynn Cemetery in town of Lynn.

Margot was born July 21, 1929 in Hanau-Kesselstadt, Germany, the daughter of Albert Weigand and Katharina (Adelfang) Weigand. On October 23, 1948 Margot was united in marriage to the love of her life Charles O. Schier in Hanau. They had 58 years together before Charles passed away in March of 2006, and Margot was lost without him.

Margot became a naturalized citizen of the United States on June 15, 1954. She and Charles farmed in Granton for a few years before moving to Deerfield, IL. She obtained her cosmetology degree in Il and worked in that field for many years.

She enjoyed decorating her house and working in her garden.

Margot is lovingly survived by her nephews, Robert Weigand, Allen Banck, and Gary Banck, She is also survived by several cousins.

Margot was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Katharina, her husband Charles, her brothers Hinz and Gerhardt, sister Helga, and nephew Ulrick.
