Knoop, Frank R. (8 OCT 1892 - 19 SEP 1980)

Frank R. Knoop, 87, Route 3, Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), died Friday afternoon at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville, with the Rev. N.W. Lindloff officiating. Burial will follow in the town of Pine Valley Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 – 9 p.m. Sunday, and until noon Monday at the Gesche Funeral Home, and for one hour before services at the church.

Music will be provided by the St. John's Lutheran School Choir, accompanied by Paul Tess. Pallbearers will be Emil Schmidt, Leonard Schultz, Melvin Dux, Arthur Ackerman, Walter Schmidt and Art Dux.

Mr. Knoop was born October 8, 1892 in the town of Pin Valley. He attended school in Pine Valley and Neillsville, and farmed in the town of Pine Valley until he retired several years ago. He continued to live on the home farm.

He served as clerk of Hillside School and as town clerk for many years. On November 10, 1920 he married the former Alice Korth. She survives.

Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Adeline Schoenherr and Mrs. Kenneth (Jean) Goetz, both of Neillsville; Mrs. Robert (Florence) Spiegel, Granton, and Mrs. Gale (Lois) Minsaas, Casper, Wyoming; three sons, Donald, Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Robert and Ervin, both of Neillsville; 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

One brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
