Hoeck, Earl L. (28 OCT 1916 - 30 AUG 2016)

Earl L. Hoeck, age 88, of 185 N 4th Street, Dorchester, passed away on Tuesday August 30, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, where he had resided for the past week, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday September 6, 2016, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Holway. Pastor Lowell Bolstad and Pastor Ron Schuenke will officiate.

Pallbearers are Joey Webb, Andy, Jacob and Matthew Hoeck, Tyler Clarkson and Josh Judnic.

Visitation will be at 4:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, September 5th at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford and also 10:00am until the time of services at 11:00am Tuesday September 6th, 2016 at Our Saviour's Lutheran church in Holway.

Earl was born on June 28, 1928 in Medford, to Louis and Grace (McKee) Hoeck.

He attended Medford Area Schools, and was married on December 7, 1957, in Medford to Karen E. Rickaby, who precedes him in death.

Earl was a WWII Veteran having joined the military at the age of 17. Following the war, he was stationed in Japan and Maine where he worked as a jet mechanic. He then served as a staff sergeant and tank commander for the Medford and Merrill Units of the National Guard. Earl worked for over 40 years in window manufacturing in Medford and Wausau, and even did a stint at the Medford Brewery. Earl enjoyed trout fishing, traveling, hunting, camping, airplanes, polka, catching squirrels, and playing the concertina. Most of all, Earl loved spending time with his family and was a great story teller.

He is a member of New Life Apostolic Church, Medford, and a past member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Holway.

Surviving Children are Ed Hoeck, Kathy (Tom) Henke, Jim (Michele) Hoeck, Becky (Brent) Clarkson all of Medford; grandchildren Raegan Hoeck, Joey Webb (Teri), Andy (Tori) Hoeck, Jacob and Mathew Hoeck, Tyler Clarkson, Rachael Hoeck (Joshua), and Kayleigh Hoeck; great grandchildren Lindsey Kauffman, Addison and Talon Judnic, and two more on the way.

Earl is also survived by his siblings, Lorraine Hinson of Mundelein, IL., and MaryAnn Rudolph, Joan Brehm both of Medford, Grace Brehm of Rib Lake and Pauline Brehm of Schofield; sisters-in-law: Nancy Cox of Abbotsford, and Edna Rickaby of Texas. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Louis and Grace (McKee) Hoeck; siblings Harvey Hoeck, Archie Hoeck, Annabelle Corl, and Louisa Howsden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
