Piater, John (12 JAN 1917 - 18 AUG 2016)

John Piater, age 99, of 3102 Cranberry Lake Road, Weyerhauser, WI, formerly of Medford, passed away at his residence in Weyerhauser, Thursday August 18, 2016.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday August 27, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford, with Rev. James Krueger officiating. Interment will be at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

Pallbearers are Mitch Paur, Darryl Lenhard, Dave Bizer, Bruce Jari, Paul Wuetrich, Dale Williams.

Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday August 27, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

John was born on January 12, 1917 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Andrew and Anna Piater. He attended Fairfield School.

He married Ruby Jari on June 25, 194,1in Dubuque, Iowa.

After school John went on to work at the Civilian Conservation Corp. John then went on to work as a dairy and mink farmer. He then worked for Little Black Insurance Company where he did repair work, and then went on to work for Taylor Electric and cleared brush for the power lines. He then became the road boss for the Town of Browning. He enjoyed welding, ice fishing, hunting, going to auctions and gardening. John was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Medford.

He is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Thomas) Fuhrmann of Weyerhaeuser.

John is predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Anna Piater; siblings Andy, Susanna, Johanna and Margaret.

Memorial Donation in honor of John can be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
