Still very active for her age is Mrs. Stella Stevens, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), who celebrated her 90th birthday on May 14th, 1971.

Mrs. Stevens was born in the town of Sherman (Clark Co.) in 1881, and was one of eight children born to her parents, Earl and Mary Bowman.

Mrs. Stevens attended the Taft School and after completing her schooling, was maid for A.A. Graves, one of the founders of Loyal.

On September 27, 1905 she was married to Ruel Stevens, and together they farmed in the town of Sherman until 1948. In 1955 Mr. and Mrs. Stevens celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. Stevens passed away in 1958.

Her only son, Stanley, also lives at Loyal.

At age 90, Mrs. Stevens enjoys visiting and is active in several organizations. She is a member of Loyal United Methodist Church, the Royal Neighbors of America, the Birthday Club, the Women's Society of Christian Service and a sheepshead club.
