Shortville Center (27 Mar 1919)

Everything is prospering in our community and everybody seems happy and contented. Well, we had ought to be, for Ed. Short and Jess Wilding are singing from morning til night. We don’t have much of a chance to get down-hearted, for music is a great thing to keep up the spirits of the people.

Guy Cramer was motoring in our part of the country Sunday.

A kitchen shower was given at the hall Wednesday evening in honor of the future Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short. A nice lot of useful presents were presented to them, and a very enjoyable evening was spent.

Mr. and Mrs. Linus Olson spent Sunday with Ora Crockett and family.

Miss Munson of Day Corners visited at Ed. Carters’ last week.

Irvin Stevens and Gladys Winters visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Short Sunday afternoon.
