Singstock, Theresa Rose (Ertl) (2 JUN 1916 - 9 JUL 2016)

Theresa Rose Singstock, age 100, was called to her eternal home on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at The Waterford in Colby.

Theresa was born June 2, 1916 in Spencer, WI, the daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Margelowsky) Ertl.

Theresa's formative years were spent in the Spencer area and on February 17, 1934 she married Albert Singstock. They lived and farmed in the Spencer area and later near Pittsville, WI.

Theresa was a hard-working farm wife and partner who raised seven children, did the gardening, cooking, canning, sewing, entertaining out of town guests, all while maintaining a pristine household. After Albert died in 1960, Theresa sold the family farm, moved to Marshfield where she worked at Julie Ann Fabrics and later at Wickersham Jewelers.

She truly enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress who made everything from the ordinary to the extraordinary, from drapes, to blouses, to winter coats, to wedding dresses. For relaxation Theresa enjoyed crocheting, quilting, putting jigsaw puzzles together, and winning at Scrabble. Family was her highest priority where she enjoyed raising and nurturing her children, then loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and mature. One of her greatest gifts is the profound commitment to family that she instilled in all of her children.

Theresa is survived by her children, Donald (Betty), Marshfield, Joanne (Chuck) Luther, Milan, Dale (Sally), Racine, Dennis (Joan), Orfordville, David (Kathy), Middleton, and Linda Hiland, New Glarus, 22 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, siblings; Walter, Texas, Lorena Kloke, Rosholt, Delores Hebert, Racine, Rose Jewett, California, and Anita (Bernard) Pernsteiner, Holcombe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 children, Robert and Laura, son-in-law Ray Hiland, 6 brothers; Henry, Raymond, Frank, William, Arnold, and Edwin, and 2 sisters; Irene and Esther.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 604 S. Chestnut Avenue, in Marshfield, with the Rev. Chris Schwanz officiating.

A visitation preceding the service will begin at 9:00 am on Thursday. Interment will occur at Mounds Cemetery in Pittsville following the service.
