Langreck, Patricia (28 DEC 1963)

Poinsettias and white and yellow chrysanthemums were utilized to decorate the altar of St. Mary's Catholic Church here for the wedding of Miss Patricia Langreck and Richard G. Scherer, the daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Langreck and Mr. and Mrs. George Scherer, all of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).

The Scherer-Langreck nuptials were solemnized by the Rev. Edward Hartung, with Mr. Langreck presenting his daughter in marriage. St. Mary's all girl high school choir sang for the wedding, which was held Saturday, December 28, 1963, at 10 a.m.

The bride wore a full length gown of Chantilly French imported lace, the gown featuring a scalloped Sabrina neckline and fitted Basque bodice, from which cascaded a full skirt of tiers of Chantilly lace over taffeta, each tier being adorned with pearlized sequins. A chapel train completed the gown.

The bride chose a coronation crown of pearls and large aurora borealis crystals, complemented by a bouffant cloud veil of illusion. Her bouquet was an arrangement of red roses entwined with ivy.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Trunkel of St. Paul, Minn., were the best man and matron of honor, respectively. Bridesmaids were Miss Janet Langreck, Miss Kathleen Herr, both of Greenwood, and Miss Patricia Rolinski, Milwaukee.

Roger Scherer and John Jasurda, both of Greenwood, and Robert Armitage, Neillsville, were the groomsmen, and the ushers were Francis and Joseph Langreck.

The bridal aides were seen in blue satin street length dresses with floor length overskirts and matching blue satin headpieces completed with small veils. Their cascade bouquets included white carnations and chrysanthemums.

The wedding dinner, supper and reception were held at the home of the bride's parents, and that evening there was a wedding dance at the Silver Dome.

Mrs. Scherer, a 1962 graduate of Greenwood High School, was employed by Briggs and Stratton, Milwaukee. Her husband, who was graduated from the same high school in 1959, is currently employed by Greenwood Co-op, after serving in the U.S. Army.

Greenwood is the home of the newlyweds.

Guests came from Greenwood, Neillsville, Marshfield, Milwaukee and from St. Paul, Minn., and Norfolk, Virginia.
