Steponik, Katholeen Jo (Marriage - 22 June1974)

Miss Katholeen Jo Steponik became the bride of Robert D. Mortenson Saturday, June 22, in a 3 p.m. ceremony performed at the Neillsville United Church of Christ by the Rev. Gary Clark. A reception was held in the church hall.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Steponik, Star Rt. Pittsville are the bride’s parents. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mortenson, Rt. 1 Neillsville.

Presented in marriage by her father, the former Miss Steponik appeared in a white hoop-skirt gown of sequin-glitter nylon net over satin styled with controlled, puffed sleeves and a four-tier skirt. The gown was enhanced by a waist length veil. A nosegay of pink roses, stephanotis and baby’s breath with pink ribbons formed the bridal bouquet.

Miss Kristin Wren, West Bend, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Lana Smith, Marshfield, and mrs. Carol Smith, Neillsville. Their modified empire style gowns of blue crystal featured white Cluny lace bodice bibs and lace cuffs on the long sleeves. The A-line skirts were adorned with lace edged flouncing. Blue lace scrolls and organza loops secured their blusher veils and daisies, rose-pink carnations and blue starflowers formed their bouquets.

The groom was attended by Tony Smith, Marshfield, as bestman and by Mike Dunn, Neillsville, and Frankie Steponik, Pittsville, as groomsmen. Tom Mortenson, Neillsville, and Ronnie Wren, West Bend, served as ushers.

Ron Wren was the ringbearer and Lisa Wren, the flower girl.

The Tiny Dux orchestra played at the wedding dance at the Silver Dome Ballroom.

The bride is a graduate of Pittsville High School and is employed in Black River Falls. Her husband, a Neillsville High School graduate, is employed by a Greenwood firm.

Following a wedding trip to Wisconsin Dells they are making their home on Rt. 1 Neillsville.
