Mallo, Beatrice Irene (Palmer) (24 JAN 1916 - 24 DEC 2010)

Beatrice Irene Mallo, 94 of Gilman, died December 24, 2010 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

She was born on January 24, 1916 in McGrath, Minnesota, the daughter of the late Raymond and Alma Louise (Olson) Palmer.

As a young girl she moved with her family to the Jump River area and attended area schools.

Beatrice was the oldest of 7 children and was preceded in death by all her siblings.

Beatrice was united in marriage to Guy W. Mallo in Medford, WI December 1, 1934. Beatrice farmed with her husband in the Town of Cleveland until 1970 with the exception of 1 ½ years when they lived in Idaho from the spring of 1936 until the fall of 1937.

Beatrice was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, Hannibal, WI. She was a league bowler for several years, well into her 80’s. She was a member of Workbasket, a local sewing group, and she enjoyed attending the many school activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Beatrice also enjoyed dancing, and square danced for many years with her husband.

Survivors include her children, Arlene (Jerome) Zahn, Jackson, WI, Bryce (Marian), Sheldon, WI, Della Story, Jump River, WI, Ray, Gilman, WI, Arthur (Mary), Rothschild, WI, Sharon (Richard) Madlon, Osceola, WI, Judith Mallo, North Prairie, WI, Paulette Johnson, Wauwatosa, WI, Jerry (Jennifer), Waukesha, WI, Brian, Gilman, WI, Loren, Greenwood, WI, Arlen, Gilman, WI.

Beatrice is further survived by 38 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death: her husband, Guy Mallo, 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild and
her siblings.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM on Thursday, Dec. 30 at New Hope Presbyterian Church. Rev.
Brad Carloss officiating. Burial will follow in the Hannibal Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 PM Wednesday at the Gilman Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the Church.
