St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby, was the setting Saturday for the marriage of Miss Virginia J. Heber and John J. Borchardt, performed by Rev. John Pinion.

Miss Hebert is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Hebert of route 1, Unity, and Mr. Borchardt's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Borchardt of route 1, Edgar.

Music during the ceremony was provided by the children's' choir.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose an all lace gown with a four tiered bouffant skirt over taffeta, with pearls, rhinestone and sequins for trim. Also featured were a scoop neckline, long sleeves and ruffles, with a full length train of lace, also trimmed with sequins.

Her headpiece was a crown of lace flower with each petal bordered with seed pearls, and trimmed with rhinestones and sequins. The headpiece held a shoulder length veil.

Her flowers were red roses with white carnations and ribbon streamers with white carnations at the ends.

The matron of honor was Mrs. Clem Weis of route 3, Stratford. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Arnell Canaday, a sister of the groom, from Wausau, and Mary Borchardt, a sister of the groom, from Edgar.

They were seen in floor length formals of blue georgette over linen, fashioned with empire waists and three-quarter length sleeves, and trimmed with daisies. Their headpieces were formed of double rings of daisies with net falling from them.

Each carried baskets of white daisies.

Serving as the groom's attendants were Clem Weis of route 3, Stratford, as best man, and Arnell Canaday of Wausau and Joe Heber of route 1, Unity, a brother of the bride.

Performing the ushering duties were Richard Hebert of Spencer and Joe Borchardt of Malstrom Air Force Base, Montana.

After the ceremony, the bride place a bouquet of red roses and white carnations on the altar of the Blessed Virgin.

For the marriage of her daughter, Mrs. Hebert chose a beige brocade dress with orange accessories, and the groom's mother wore a pink suit with white and pink accessories.

About 250 guests attended a reception after the ceremony at the Colby City Hall, followed by dinner at St. Mary's Hall.

A wedding dance was held that evening at Fahey's Hall at Rozellville.

The bride had been employed as a secretary at Northern Auto at Marshfield, and the groom was employed at the Fenwood Milling Co. Following a wedding trip to an undisclosed destination, the couple will be at home at a farm at route 1, Stratford, where they will be farming.

Guests attending the ceremonies came from Stratford, Wausau, Edgerton, Sun Prairie, St. Paul, Minn., Glenview, Ill., Marshfield, Edgar, Rubicon, Milwaukee, Spencer, La Crosse, Montana, Dodgeville, Rudolph, Fenwood and Mosinee.
