Perovsek, Frank (16 SEP 1881 – 29 JAN 1963)

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, February 1, 1963 at the Holy Family Catholic Church at Willard (Clark Co., Wis.), for Frank Perovsek Sr., 81, a pioneer of Willard, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Josephine Trunkel, Tuesday afternoon, January 29, 1963. He had been at the home of his daughter for a week and had been in poor health for the past six months. The Rev. Mirko Sylvester officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.

Hill Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Perovsek was born in Ponova Vas, Yugoslavia on Sept. 16, 1881. He came to the United States in 1898 and settled in Chicago, where he was employed in a steel mill. He came to Willard in 1908 and was married in Chicago to Mary Blatnik, who died Nov. 6, 1923. In 1948 he retired from farming and moved to the village of Willard and was caretaker of the Holy Family Cemetery since. Mr. Perovsek was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and served as treasurer of the church for 21 years, was a member of the third order of St. Francis, and a member and officer in the American-Slovenia Catholic Union.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. John (Rose) Selakar, Chicago; Mrs. Raymond (Mollie) Johnson, Caldwell, Idaho; a son, Frank Peroshek Jr., Greenwood, and eight grandchildren.

A daughter, Mrs. Marie Seseman, died in 1957.
