Lewis, Tammy Jo (Marriage - 1 June 1974)

Mis Tammy Jo Lewis and Duane Fred Marty pledged marriage vows Satruday, June 1, at Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Pine Valley. The Rev. Ronald J. Nordin of Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville, officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Lewis, Rt. 2 Neillsville and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marty, Rt. 1 Granton.

The bride appeared in an entrained gown of rayon organza and venise lace in princess styling with a high neckline and long sleeves. A bouffant veil flowed from her Camelot headpiece trimmed with satin ribbon and venise lace. She carried a nosegay of red and pink sweetheart roses with white carnations as she was presented in marriage by her father.

Joan Carol Schnabel as maid of honor and Mrs. Paul Bertz of Norfolk, Va., as bridesmaid wore venise lace trimmed gowns of Nile green nylon sheer over taffeta. Each carried a lace fan with pink sweetheart roses.

Larry Hediger served as bestman and Paul Bertz of Norfolk, Va., as groomsman. Guests were seated by David Marty, Granton, and Kenneth Marg.

Mrs. Kenneth Karnitz, organist, accompanied the congregational singing.

Wedding day events included a supper at the Silver Dome Supper Club, a reception from 1 to 9 p.m. at the home of the bride’s parents, and a dance at the Neillsville American Legion Hall.

The bride, who attended Neillsville High School, was honored at a pre-nuptial shower given by her maid of honor. The groom graduated from Granton High School and is employed by a Neillsville firm. In July, he will go to Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., for six months basic training with the National Guard.

Following a wedding trip to points of interest in Southern Wisconsin, the newlyweds will make their home with the bride’s parents for the present.
