Weber, Francis X. (12 JUN 1928 - 10 MAY 2016)

Francis X. Weber, age 87 of Dorchester, WI, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Aspirus Nursing and Rehab in Medford where he had resided for the past 5 weeks.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 14, 2016, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, with Father Gerard Willger and Father Peter Manckam co-officiating.

Interment will be at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery, Dorchester. Honorary pallbearer is Carl Blumenthal. Active pallbearers are Troy Petznick, Joe Etten, Matt Hammes, Morgan Crotteau, Alex Tacke and Michael Mueller.

Visitation will be at 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, May 13, 2016 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford with a 6:45 P.M. prayer service. Also from 9:30 until time of services at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester.

Francis was born on June 12, 1928, in Dorchester, to Frank Joseph and Elizabeth Clara (Elfert) Weber.

He attended St. Louis Catholic School in Dorchester.

On June 9, 1953, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, he married the love of his life, Delores “Dee” P. Broeske. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2013.

After his schooling, Francis worked on the family farm until 1950 when he purchased his own dairy farm and operated it for 64 years. He enjoyed driving his John-Deere tractor, watching the wildlife, eating his wife’s delicious cooking and baking and spending time with his family.

He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Owen-Withee Polka Choir for 13 years, and past president of the Dorchester Co-op for a number of years.

Francis is survived by his children, Tom Weber, Dan (Tammy) Weber both of Dorchester and Judy (Matt) Tacke of Medford; 8 grandchildren, Sara (Matt) Hammes, Katie (Joe) Etten, Troy (Allison) Petznick, Alex and Carisa Tacke, Tia and Tara Weber and Jamie (Morgan) Crotteau; 5 great grandchildren, Angela and Jordy Bradford, Evalyn and Miles Hammes and Cameron Crotteau.

He is predeceased by his wife Delores, parents Frank Joseph and Elizabeth Clara (Elfert) Weber; siblings, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Francis’ family to be designated at a later date.

Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
