Hinker, Francis B. (17 MAY 1942 – 27 MAR 2016)

Francis B. Hinker, 73 of Marshfield died peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at North Haven Assited Living in Stevens Point.

Private memorial services will be at Rembs Funeral Home with Fr. Jim Logan officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield.

Francis was born on May 17, 1942 in Greenwood to Sylvester and Barbara (Pink) Hinker. He attended schools in Greenwood then entered the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War from May 11, 1964 until his honorable discharge on May 10, 1966. After his honorable discharge, he was employed at Marshfield Home, Inc. where he retired.

He was united in marriage to Corrine H. Kaiser on May 4, 1968 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratford.

Francis was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, baseball, softball and football. He also enjoyed playing cards and doing things with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife Corrine, two children Adam (Sarah) Hinker of Stevens Point, and Melody "Dee" Higgins of Peosta, IA; 5 grandchildren MacHanna, Kyla and Rory Higgins, Genevieve and Grant Hinker. He is further survived by a sister JoAnn (Lester) Kaiser of Hewitt; 4 brothers, Gene (Marilyn) Hinker of Loyal, Ronald (Audrey) Hinker of Wausau, Allen (Sandra) Hinker and Robert (Donna) Hinker both of Greenwood; 2 sisters-in-law Marlene Hinker and Carolyn Hinker both of Greenwood.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers Larry (Sharon), Jerry, Jim and William Hinker.
