Volovsek, Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse (Silver - 1 June 1974)
The Rev. Michael Mertens officiated at a silver wedding anniversary Mass for Mr.
and Mrs. Alphonse Volovsek Saturday at 8 p.m. at the holy Family Catholic Church
in Willard. The family was present.
Alphonse Volovsek, son of Mrs. Anna Volovsek and her late husband, Frank, and
Virginia Herkert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Herkert of Marshfield, were
married June 1, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield by the Rev.
Edward Hartung assistant pastor.
Attendants were Mrs. John (Florence Herkert) Smrecek, Tony Volovsek, Mrs. James
(Irene) Susa, John Volovsek, Mrs. Joseph (Betty Volovsek) Fraid and James
Herkert. Ringbearer was Edward Volovsek, and flowergirl was Mary Staut. After
their marriage, they farmed on their present farm.
Mr. and Mrs. Volovsek have five children: Richard of Franklin, Ronald Volovsek
of Willard, Roger, Donna and Debra at home. And two granddaughters: Kayra and
Heather Volovsek.
Festivities included a dance and entertainment, including lunch at their farm
home, which their children planned.
People came from Willard, Greenwood, Marshfield, Franklin, Milwaukee and other
places.
