Olson, Delmond Leo (31 DEC 1933 – 28 FEB 2016)

Delmond Leo Olson, 82, Greenwood, passed away on Sunday Feb. 28, 2016, at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center, Owen, where he has resided the last 12 years. A memorial service will be held at noon on Thursday, March 3, at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, 201 E Rusch St., Thorp. Rev. Paul Bittner will officiate. Family and friends are welcome for visitation starting at 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Delmond was born on Dec. 31, 1933, in Greenwood, to Leo and Marie (nee Baron) Olson. He married Karen (Laabs) Olson on July 20, 1957. Together they farmed for 25 years in Greenwood with their four children. He also enjoyed working in the woods, hunting, fishing, and the 15 years that they owned and operated Del’s Mobil Gas Station in Thorp. Delmond was also a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp.

Delmond is survived by his wife, Karen; four children: Kathy (Harold) Dillenbeck of Greenwood, Tim Olson of Greenwood, Lana (Charles) Przybylski of Thorp, and Wendy (Mark) Bollinger of Chippewa Falls; a brother, Dale (Debbie) Olson of Abbotsford; a sister, Sharon (Jeff) Piller of Granton; two sisters-in-law: Mary Olson of Greenwood and Guadalupe Olson of Gallup, N.M.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Marie; his step-mother, Frances; and two brothers, Leonard and Roger.
