Janesville Settlement (5 Dec 1918)

R. Waseca was a business caller on J.J. Susa and Leo Palzer Saturday.

M.M. Bahl helped Joe Buettner a few days last week with carpenter work.

Marvin Churkey had the misfortune to get scalded very badly Tuesday. He was helping his mother carry a boiler of boiling water when he slipped and pulled the boiling water over his legs.

Fred Kalkofen made cheese at the Eaton Center factory Wednesday so his uncle, Herman Kalkofen, could spend several days hunting.

Chas. Churkey helped Ed. Keefe with his butchering Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Clark Hatton and son spent Thanksgiving at Al. Flagg’s.

Mrs. Chas. Bostwick called on Mrs. Chas. Churkey Wednesday afternoon.

Antonia Marlik spent Monday wth Mrs. J.J. Susa.

Sophia Waseca is at City Point on a visit with relatives.

Mrs. Ed. Keefe called at Chas. Churkey’s Tuesday afternoon to see Marvin, who was badly scalded.

Miss Anna Waseca spent Wednesday with her sister, Mrs. J.J. Susa.

The next Red Cross meeting will be held with Mrs. Al. Flagg Thursday, Dec. 5. Anyone interested in the work, come.

Mrs. J. Solmerdon has been on the sick list again.

Dan and Kenneth Stafford of Greenwood are out here hunting.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. S.B. Flagg Dec. 1, a daughter. Congratulations.

Mrs. F. Hatton called on Mrs. Chas. Churkey Saturday afternoon.

Norbert and Will Kuester of the west side were business callers on F. Hatton Thursday.

Mrs. Palzer of Owega is spending some time here with her daughter, Mrs. S.B. Flagg.

Mr. and Mrs. Thorson of Owega spent Thanksgiving at Globe.

Elsie and Orville Dimler are on the sick list. Elsie has been unconscious since Thursday. We are sorry to hear this bad news. Mrs. Dimler has not been in good health since early this fall when their building burned and it makes it very hard for her with the children sick.

Mrs. Al. Flagg called on Mrs. F. Marlik Monday.

Matilda Marlik is working for Mrs. S.B. Flagg.
