Turnquist, Mr./Mrs. Carl (Silver – 21 JUN 1958)

Approximately 150 relatives and friends attended the 'Open House' Saturday, June 21, 1958, to celebrate the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Turnquist at their home near Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.). Supper was served to the guests, followed by a social gathering and a late lunch.

Of the four attendants 25 years ago, those present were: Mrs. And Mrs. Art (Leona Olson) Turnquist, brother and sister of the bride and groom; Mrs. Orville (Lucille Olson) Oswald, Greenwood, sister of the bride Art Hendrickson, Greenwood and Mrs. Oril (Edna Elmer) Swieso of Tacoma, Washington, niece of the groom, were unable to attend

Carl Turnquist and Evelyn Olson, daughter of Henry Olson and the late Mrs. Henry Olson, were married June 21, 1933 in Greenwood by the late Rev. M.K. Aaberg in the Trondhjem Lutheran Church. They went to farming northeast of Greenwood.

Their four children were present for the occasion. They are: Cora Mae, a student nurse at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, and Hilda, Chester and Edward at home.

The honored couple received many gifts and congratulatory messages, including a telegram from Madison, Wis. and a phone call from Springfield, Ill.

Those from away attending were: Verdelle Arneson, Myrtle Anderson of Cadott; Mrs. Sophie Crowley, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Meyer and Kathleen, Cameron; Mr. and Mrs. John Widmer, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Prust and family, Plymouth; Everett Elmer and family, Fort Atkinson; Perry Pederson, Jean Luther, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ludwigson, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Pricy Vine, Vida, Montana; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Swenson, Woodville; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hanson and Alice, Mt. Horeb; Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Ystad of Loyal.
