Wilson, Emma Mae (14 November 1926 - 28 December 2015)
Emma Wilson, 89, of Neillsville went to eternal life Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at
the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family.
Emma Mae Holt was born Nov. 14, 1926, in the Town of Weston, the daughter of
Clarence W. and Mary A. (McKimm) Holt. She attended the Forman Grade School. In
1944 to 1946, she stated work at the Dairy Belt in Spencer. She was united in
marriage to Frank John Wilson May 23, 1946, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Greenwood. They farmed north of Greenwood and north of Neillsville after they
were married, they then moved to Sussex in 1952, and Emma began working at St.
Mary’s Hospital. She worked there until 1963 when she went to work at
Bloomberg’s leather Factory. In 1964, they returned to the Town of Weston to
farm. They retired from farming in 1976 and in 2000 Emma moved to Neillsville.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville, and she was a
member of the St. Cecelia’s PCCW group.
She is survived by eight children: Harold Wilson of Neillsville, Mary (Richard)
Schmitz of Greenwood, Michael Wilson of Granton, Beverly (Allan) Boon of
Neillsville, Dolores (James) Horn of Greenwood, Diane (Thomas) Kren of
Neillsville, Karen (Alan) Litke of Pierz, MN, and Robert (DeOna) Wilson of
Neillsville. She is further survived by 22 grandchildren; 38
great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Audrey (Ronald) Weister of Marshfield; a
brother, Verlan (Darla) Holt of Marshfield; and two sisters-in-law: Maxine
Hetzel and Catherine Drescher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank John Wilson, in 1980; a son,
Frank Clarence Wilson in 1951; her parents; and three brothers: Donald Holt, Ray
Hetzel and Gale Hetzel.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Emma was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan.2,
2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Celebrant was Rev.
Varkey V. Joseph. Music was provided by Vicente Cortez, organist, and St. Mary’s
Choir. Interment was in the Louise Marie Chapel Cemetery in Christie. Visitation
was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary Service, Friday at the Gesche
Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Satruday at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church.
Casket bearers were: Chad Schmitz, Chris Schmitz, Benjamin Wilson, Jeremy Boon,
Jacob Rhode and Kyle Wilson.
Honorary casketbearers were: Sandi Anderson, Eugene Schmitz, Jody Duffett,
Michelle Walde, Kristin Horn, Brian Wilson, Tim Wilson, Brenda Wilson, Samantha
Thomas, Melissa Boon-Strangfeld, Lyndsey Boon-Brunette, Jared Boon, Kayla
Dancer, Kimberly Litke, Emilee Litke and Nicolette Wilson.
