Washburn (9 May 1974)

Mrs. Harold Junchen reports the results of the Cancer Drive, which was $77.01. Her assistants were Myra Junchen and Mrs. Ernest Kuhn.

Joe Horehled who has been a patient at Memorial Hospital with pneumonia and complications for three weeks has returned home Saturday. He was recovering slowly.

About 60 relatives and close friends attended a reception and picnic Saturday at the Nathan Vandeberg cottage at Hatfield in honor of the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Williams.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kalsow, daughter Barbara, and son, Wayne, Mrs. George Allbaugh, Mrs. Paul Kuhn, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Lonning, Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart and sons, Wayne and Lee, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dahnert surprised Mr. and Mrs. Dale Reinart recently in honor of their first wedding anniversary. They took the food and served a dinner and supper in honor of the occasion. Mr and Mrs. Clarence Reinart and Jeff Meier spent an evening with Mr. and Mrs. Reinart, also.

Mr. and Mrs. Pat Savasta, Mrs. Magnus Romfoe, Mrs. Frank Herrman and Mrs. Bob Ehlert of Gilman helped Mrs. Harold Elmendorf celebrate her birthday recently. They had a picnic supper at Moraine Tower Park.

Roger Williams, daughter Lori and sons, Roger and Allen of Williams Bay, Mrs. Lois Mathews and daughter, Sara Jo, of Lake Geneva, Mr. and Mrs. Draves and family and Betty Draves of West Bend, and Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Williams were dinner and supper guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Zschernitz and son called there Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lindow sold their farm recently and had their auction Saturday. They will move into a trailer home near Chili.

Mrs. Elmer Kapfer visited Mrs. Irving Stevens and was a dinner guest Tuesday. She also called on Mrs. Art Williams at Memorial Home.

Mrs. William Tullis of Waukesha spent Thursday and Thursday night with her brother, Ralph Scholtz and son, Gene, in Sherwood.

Mrs. Roy Barth of Nekoosa called on Mrs. Art Odell Thursday.

Mrs. Harry Kissling drove to Green Bay the fore part of the week to spend several days with her son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Ell (Skip) Lee and family.

Donald McNeil and a gentleman friend of Chicago spent the weekend with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Havlicek, Sr., and enjoyed some fishing.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short called Wednesday evening at the Mrs. Wanda Pretsch home.

Mrs. Kenneth Krause was in Marshfield Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Havlicek, Sr., visited their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Havlicek, Wednesday evening.

Mrs. Everett Pepper of Janesville and daughter, Mrs. Shirley Buddinger of Sycamore, Il., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kissling. Mrs. Pepper is the mother of Mrs. Buddinger and Mrs. Kissling. Coleen Budding, daughter of Mrs. Shirley Buddinger, spent the weekend with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William (Whitey) Buddinger, Jr.

Mrs. Elmer Kapfer attended the Ladies Aid meeting at the Granton United Methodist Church Thursday.

Mrs. Ralph Schram will entertain the Cannonville Ladies Aid at her home near Alma Center, Wednesday, May 15, with dinner served at noon.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short called Sunday evening at the Harry Teter home.
